Induction into the NME

My first performance in the School of Music here at OSU was more like an induction into a Composer's Club. After an amazing performance by Thomas Wells, playing 5 pieces of Henry Cowell for piano, I was wheeled out onto stage where I sat for the entire second half of the concert. David Toamasacci, Tenor and arranger, was greatful for the "disciplined action" (as it is written in John Cage's score of 0'0").

Recording in Weigel Hall

I started today on a new recording of piano music. The project is led by Odette Blum with pianist Chein Hui. The music is a collection of Schubert, Schumann, Bradford and Phyllis Forbes. This music will be used by dance instructors worldwide to teach exercises designed by the Margaret Morris Movement.
It is so much fun to record such a nice instrument, Steinway Concert Grand.

This allows students a broad range of explorations, study and inquiry into the profession of dance. The Experimental Movement and Media Arts Lab (EMMA) at the Advanced Computing Center of the Arts and Design presents, "We Will Be Going On Now" with Laurie Atkins, Ariadne Mikou, and Rachael Riggs-Leyva. The concert includes choreographies ranging from the 1940's to the presentby Jean Erdman, Trisha Brown and Norah Zuniga-Shaw and features 3D animation, real-time ineractive sound, and motion capture.
